[2026] 12 Must-See Kyoto Attractions to Visit with Kids

Here are 12 tourist spots where you can enjoy experiences unique to Kyoto with your kids!
From brand-new spots that just opened to indoor facilities where you can have fun regardless of the weather, we’ve carefully selected the places we’d highly recommend families visit when they come to Kyoto—as chosen by a writer who’s raising children herself. (TEXT / Yurie Sano)

1. Parents and Children Get Excited About the Interactive Exhibits [Nintendo Museum] / Uji

The [Nintendo Museum], which opened in October 2024 following the renovation of the [Nintendo Uji Ogura Factory], is a facility where visitors can experience Nintendo’s spirit of craftsmanship firsthand. It’s packed with highlights, including an area showcasing the company’s past video games and toys, as well as photo spots. There are also innovative interactive exhibits that blend nostalgic products with the latest technology, making it enjoyable even for young children.
