1. [Irodori Kyoto Station Hachijo-guchi] Amber Sugar / Kyoto Station Hachijo-guchi

[IRODORI] is a brand launched by [Tsuruya Yoshinobu], a Kyoto confectionery shop founded in the third year of the Kyowa era, with the hope of attracting a younger generation less familiar with traditional Japanese sweets. While preserving tradition, the brand offers innovative Japanese confections and celebrated the 10th anniversary of its launch in July 2025. The five pastel-colored pieces of amber candy each capture the flavors of lavender, mint, rose, chamomile, and jasmine. Their charming appearance, neatly arranged in a clear case, and their unique texture—crunchy yet smooth—offer a fresh experience.

Kizakura, a Kyoto-based sake brewer well-known for its kappa mascot, offers a unique product with a label featuring the station sign of Kyoto Station as a Kyoto souvenir, which many railroad fans buy for their collections. A new product released in March 2025 by [Biju Co., Ltd.], the manufacturer and seller of Kyoto’s famous confections such as Nama Yatsuhashi with sweet red bean paste, Otabe, and Kyobaamu. The dough, made by combining fine mochi flour with meringue and crafted to be about twice as thick as usual, offers a fluffy texture completely different from previous Otabe products. It pairs perfectly with the smooth, strained red bean paste made with red beans sourced from contract farmers in Tokachi, Hokkaido, and domestic butter.
