A traditional Japanese afternoon tea inspired by the “Hasshōken Poems”—a collection of Chinese-style poems composed by eight poets during the Meiji period that describe the scenery visible from the site where the hotel now stands—is now available. The theme changes every three months, and the menu is presented in four chapters that capture the changing seasons. This season, Chapter Two is themed around the poem “Fireflies and Partridges,” featuring special Japanese sweets—available exclusively here—crafted by the long-established Kyoto confectionery [Kameya Yoshinaga], as well as savory dishes made with seasonal ingredients.
